AZ Home Study Requirements

Edgar+Aguirre+Adoption home studies for families throughout Arizona. Social workers in Phoenix and Tucson!

Expert home study support, professional and caring.   We provide a free consultation and orientation about AZ home studies and post adoption services.

Our staff are highly rated as “professional, informative and compassionate” by families.  Many of our social workers are adoptive parents, too!   We have experience writing home studies for all countries and domestic adoptions.

The home study is about you – your feelings about adoption, your personal history, your expectations and your philosophy of parenting. We visit with you a minimum of twice.

Families must provide

  • Biographical information
  • ID such as AZ driver’s license
  • Birth certificates
  • Marriage license and, if divorced, divorce decree
  • Criminal clearances
  • Child abuse clearances
  • Proof of insurance
  • Financial verification such as employee letter, pay stubs, tax returns
  • Medical exam reports

Your social worker will provide you with clear instructions and forms to meet the AZ regulations.  Each family member will have a conversation with the social worker and a chance to ask questions.   Home study meetings are an opportunity to explore feelings and expectations and learn about the adoption process.
